Joe McMenamin Wales

Joe Mcmenamin was born in Scotland in 1938. He won a bursery to the Glasgow School of Art but eventually went on to become a heating engineer. He moved to the channel Islands and it was there that he met the Welsh girl who was to become his wife, bringing him to South Wales and Merthyr Tydfil in 1966. He worked for the Welsh development Agency until being made redundant at the age of fifty. It was then that he decided to start painting.

Joe has painted in pretty much every medium available to todays artists. Now more and more of his time is spent exploring the colour, texture and tantalising effects that encaustic techniques and materials enable. He has exhibition which often also include watercolours and collage.
