Dragonflies with the Encaustic Low-heat Stylus tip ...

... Living Dragonflies,
not parachuting spiders!

This is how to make dragonflies with the stylus using the drawing tip.

... do not to have too much wax in the drawing tip

... make a spot of the metallic colour on you card

FLICK the tip out from the spot to form a pointed line
Take care to make the wings of your dragonflies fine & sharp.
... repeat to get all the second wing line
...then do the same to the other side of the wing set
... one ideal wing form is like the hands of a clock when set to ten to two

use a different colour (usually non-metallic) for the body - dark over a light background scene or light over a dark area of background.

make the body in the same way as the wing lines...
one spot above the center of the wings...

... then one slightly curved flick, executed confidently will indicate both life & movement in these flying creatures.
Parachuting spiders have droopy wings and straight fat bodies, so beware and look out for them!
...and finally...
