the small fairy stamp was used to work directly into the wax for this image. first the iron was converted into a mini hotplate then the wax colour melted on - no. 13 rust brown & no.08 bluegreen . whilst the card was kept warm over the mini hotplate, tissue was wiped over the wax to create the streaked, lighter central area. the stamp was then placed on the card, in the correct position, with the card resting on the mini hotplate iron without any added wax on the stamp. it forms a light impression of the fairy image, actually removing some of the wax in that area. the stamp was used to dab in the various marks on the border area too, this being done whilst the card was moved around on top of the mini hotplate, thus melting the appropriate areas for re-working. a magical little card.
