the bush tree stamp was coated with a dye based ink then pressed on to create the full image on the right. after re-coating with ink a waste card was placed level with the root of the original tree stamp, so that when the next two stampings were made only portions of the rubber stamp image actually contacted with the painting card. this printed more "bush" like images & is a useful technique for some types of stamp. the whole thing was waxed over as usual for this type of image, then the border added last of all.
