this parchment paper is an "antique" colour & 250gms in weight. it is ideal for soft transparent types of imagery. once completed this particular image was sprayed with adhesive then applied to a rigid background. unfortunately things don't always go to plan & as you can see, it has "cockled" making for a sad looking result. so when gluing artwork down onto a rigid board be more careful than we were! smooth out the artwork from the centre, so that any buckling air-spaces are eliminated.


the image itself was formed with the parchment on the hotplate[b/], set at a lowish temperature. the parchment buckling became obvious when it was removed from this heated stage.
1) first the sky colours were applied, then wiped off with tissue to make them soft & light.
2) next the tissue was used to rub in the mountain form & water colouring.
3) tissue or sponges were used to dab in the trees & reflected trees.
4) the water ripple lines were added with the edge of the iron
