the iron is loaded with the chosen colours then the straight edge rested onto the paper at the starting point. The edge is kept pressed down firmly with the base plate vertical so that the wax dribbles down as the iron is moved forwards. a trail of wax remains, absorbed into the paper's surface. heavy areas of wax are worked through with the iron's curved edge, remelting these as the wax is pushed further around. details are added with the stylus.
