smooth no.48 purple wax over a card with the iron until completely covered. place the iron's curved edge close to the centre of the purple card and saw it back and forth like a short knife cutting stroke. press wuite firmly doing this and at the same time slowly rotate the card and move the iron increasingly further from the centre area so that a spiral develops. it is far easier to rotate the card than try to turn the iron's angle.
