Encaustic: to burn in
The use of heat as a solvent to wax colour.

Art: Skill with imagination
Art: An expression of the artist's being

Whilst sufficient heat is present there is the potential for tangible change. Flowing wax, mixing colour. The dancers dance.

When the heat is removed, a stable, held form is engaged. The memory of the dance is represented, but the dancers have moved on.

As life moves thorugh time and space, the shape of our dance changes, everything changes, even the rocks and mountains, the coasts and rivers, the climates and inhabitants.
