No concept of the result was imagined before-hand. The work began with clear wax being ironed over the whole surface to enable flow when blowing in the next stage and to ensure total surface coverage. Colours were then applied with the iron, both by dribbling and smoothing actions. These were then blown with hot air, but due to the thick card backing of the canvas board the wax takes a while to melt, then the backing if hot so ittakes a while to cool - this is far less controllable for lowing than plain stretched canvas.
So, to build on that process being only partially rewarding, the hot air gun was used to blow onto the wax block being held (danger of finger burning - DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT DUE CONSIDERATION OF YOUR OWN SAFETY!) - then the softened wax block end was used rather like a pastel to draw onto the wax surface. Hot air was used carefuly and gently to fuse the wax layers together. Finally, some wax colour - mostly white, was cold crayoned on top of the hardened artwork pieace to add highlights - it was also fused in later.
