the sky was created first of all, using the iron . the jagged peaked mountain horizon was then added & the landscape worked down as far as the top of the waterfall. the stream was formed by rubbing with tissue. as the rubbing friction creates heat the wax softens and starts to rub off, leaving lighter areas for the stream. next clear wax medium was used with the iron to mix into & clean the area where the waterfall would be created. then with swift light downward strokes of the iron, using the straight top edge of the base plate as the top of the waterfall, the streaming wax was carefully worked over until the desired effect appeared after one complete stroke movement. it can take time to learn this light touch! once formed this area is not touched again with the iron, but the "framing" sides are added with the iron, carefully dabbing & sliding until all is good. another swift sliding stroke from the bottom of the waterfall toward the lower right hand corner was added before the final dabbing of nearest foliage effects. the details of flowers & dragonflies were added last using the low heat stylus tool although the taller grasses were made using the sliding edge of the iron.
