Mixers colours are derived from the "circle" colours and are more true to one another when mixed than some of the other ones. Example is that red and yellow make orange. But a crimson 01 mixed with a Lemon Yellow 05 will make more of a brown orange than a Vermillion 02 mixed with the Lemon Yellow 05 , which will result in a brighter orange. So the idea that red and yellow makes orange is affected by whether the red is on the yellow (more orangey red) or blue (more purpley red) side of true red and also whether the yellow is on the red side (more orangey) or blue side (more greeny). The MIXERS are more middle colours that will mix with one another in a simple manner and comply to the conventions of understanding of what should be produced. Bright Red 43 mixed with Mid Yellow 44 will make a good orange. 44 Mid Yellow mixed with 46 Cyan Blue will make a good green etc. Finally the mixer colours are also a little thicker and more viscous than some of the original ones and this leads to a more uniform experience when molten and a product that is easier for a complete beginner to start with. The mixer colours flow together more slowly, so over mixing is less swift to occur.
