The encaustic art range of tools have well regulated temperature control. The iron is light and can be used as a mini-hotplate too. The stylus operates at a fixed temperature that has been carefully specified for the encaustic art wax range. There are several interchangeable tips below too.

The hotplate is the best quality we can get made at this price. The sponges, scrapy wax movers and brushes are all ideal for various hotplate techniques and approaches.

A split tip that works like a "line pen". Fit into the Stylus and tighten the retaining screw. Ideal for all drawn lines, graphic work, careful blending and shading, etc. Note: if this tip is too sharp use a fine abrasive / sand paper to perfectly smooth the tip to suit your style and action of drawing.

Stylus Tip - WIRE BRUSH HEAD Ref: 5307.00
A coated copper wire brush head that is used heated. Fit into the Stylus and tighten the retaining screw. These metal fibres are fragile so be kind to them and do not "stab" into the wax colours. the fibres will bend if pressed too hard during use. they can easily be bent back. To clean use a cheap candle, fill the heated brush head with clear wax and pinch the fibres between a tissue. Always pull the tissue gently along the metal fibres from the Stylus unit towards the tip. Once tangled it is hard to repair! [6 gms]

A triangular head about 35mm (1.25") long. Fit into the Stylus and tighten the retaining screw. Ideal for miniatures and working in small areas (not recommended for larger sweeping strokes because the bigger surface area of this tip loses heat quickly in such applications). Great for adding areas of pattern "inside" larger artworks, etc.

The flat base is made from thin aluminium and can be re-shaped using a metal file to modify and create your own tips!
